Elevator Market in Turkey
The elevator sector report in Turkey was published by the Ministry of Science Industry and Technology for 2017 year. When we reviewed the report, we can see that the Export value of the elevator sector including spare parts and equipment was 159 million US Dollars. The import value of Turkey in this sector was 224 million US Dollars. The difference between the export and import was $65 million for 2017, this value was 157 million dollars in the previous year (2016). This can be seen as an achievement. In the Sectorial Report of the General Directorate for Industry, there are 2,285 companies in this field and 2100 companies have Service Adequacy Certificates (HYB). Also, the number of assembly companies is nearly 2100.
Elevator Market
More or less seven global elevator companies worked in Turkey for both production and installation. ISF is a dominant company in the elevator market in Turkey. We haven’t got a global company for our own trademark. Our companies learned how to manufacture good quality cabin buffers, controllers, and cabins. Speed regulator, pit box, machine frame, speed governor, over-speed governor. Also speed governor frame, counterweight guide rails, hitch plate. Some of the ropes, fixing plate, cabin door, landing door, and car guide rails. Other than these machine bedplates, counterweight frame, counterweight, car frame/slings, roller guide shoes, fixing plate, and diverter pulley. Finally, traction pulleys and more have the capacity to compete with Europe in quality and suitable prices.
Moreover, some companies collect the components from foreign and domestic markets and call it “package elevator” or “complete elevator“. As a result, we haven’t got our model and mark, elevators were installed up to the speed of 2.5-3 mph by elevator companies collecting the components. In some elevator projects like luxury hotels or residences, the speed of the lift is the most important expectation. Increasing the speed of the elevator increases the cost of the lift. Domestic companies cannot be manufactured elevator components operating at a speed of 4-5 mph and more.
